# Vault Kinetics

Vault Kinetics Inc. was founded by Joshua Gao and Paul Douglass and grew out of
a Yale Athletics x Engineering research effort. The technology is built on
patented capacitive force-sensing (patent WO2025226824A1).

## What Vault is
The Vault One is a portable force plate — a 2x2 ft sensor platform with 48
sensors sampling at 100 Hz — that measures ground reaction forces during real
training. It supports 50+ standardized assessments across jump, strength,
agility, balance, gait, and isometric protocols (countermovement jump, RSI,
IMTP, drop jump, Y-Balance, and more). Results stream live to the Vault One app
(iOS and Android) for instant athlete reports and longitudinal tracking. Vault
measures and monitors performance; it does not make injury-prediction claims.

## How Vault compares
- vs. traditional force plates (e.g. VALD, Hawkin, Sparta): the same lab-quality
  ground-reaction-force data, but portable, more affordable, and simpler to use —
  no lab, no analyst required.
- vs. contact / jump mats (e.g. Just Jump, Skyhook, Plyomat): far higher data
  quality and more data types — true ground reaction force, not just jump height —
  with agility and balance testing built in.
